In addition to skilled nurses, social workers, and therapists, Absolute Compassion relies on capable volunteers for hospice to help provide patients with the assistance and companionship they need. Though not responsible for administering to medical needs, our volunteer team supports hospice patients and their families in a variety of important ways: running errands, reading to patients, providing one-on-one companionship, sharing memories, and providing life-reviews. These seemingly small tasks are of utmost importance when helping patients and their loved ones transition through end of life processes.
Absolute Compassion ensures that each volunteer is certified to provide support to patients. Our staff performs special training and requires volunteers to receive necessary screening and immunizations. All volunteers must also complete the appropriate documentation prior to interacting with patients.
Making a Difference
Having a volunteer there as an understanding, kind support creates a world of difference to the emotional well-being of our patients. Our patients love the support, encouragement, and meaningful friendship that our volunteers provide.
